HACCP

Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points
HACCP is a food safety management system that analyzes and monitors potential biological, chemical, and physical hazards related to the production and handling of raw materials used in the manufacture of finished products. Hagelin has followed a HACCP program since 1997.

AIB International
American Institute of Baking
AIB provides safety inspections, audits, certifications, and safety education for the food and beverage industry. AIB also offers HACCP Accreditation. Hagelin has received yearly cGMP (21CFR110) and HACCP audits for over 10 years, consistently scoring a superior rating; AIB’s highest rating.

SQF
Safe Quality Food Program
SQF is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized HACCP-based food safety and quality management system that ensures verification and validation of all manufacturing procedures. Hagelin’s US facilities and employees are currently undergoing SQF training, implementation, and certification.

BRC Global Standard - Food
Certified by ISOQAR Ltd
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) implemented the Global Standard for Food Safety to provide audit protocol and standards for companies in the food industry. The standard assists suppliers in their fulfilment of legal obligations and protection of the consumer. Hagelin’s UK facilities were last audited by ISOQAR Ltd in February 2011 and achieved an A; the highest grade awarded.

FEMA
Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association
FEMA promotes the safe use of food flavorings, ingredients, and raw materials in the flavor industry through scientific evaluation. The FEMA “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) assessment program serves to ensure flavoring substances used in foods are safe for their intended use. Hagelin crafts flavors from FEMA GRAS ingredients and raw materials.

KOF-K
Kosher Supervision & Certification
KOF-K Kosher Supervision provides international Kosher certification for the food and beverage industry. KOF-K monitors and ensures products and services meet the strict standards of Kashrus (Kosher law), which follow Halacha (Jewish law). All of Hagelin’s facilities are Kosher certified and can produce Kosher certified flavors.

NAFFS
National Association of Flavors and Food-Ingredient Systems
NAFFS, founded in 1917, is an association comprised of food and flavor-ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, and processors. NAFFS offers a means of exchanging new innovations, technology, and marketing information among companies in the food industry. Craig Hagelin served as the President of NAFFS from 1988–1989 and on the Board of Directors from 1994–1997.
